Ahh, Madrid! So grand! So royal! I live in Barcelona which is Madrid’s nemesis. The two cities hate each other and compete aggressively in business and football. While I love Barcelona, I also appreciate Madrid and all the ways it is different from the little city I call home.
First and foremost, Madrid has great art museums. So does Barcelona, but I’d say the lion’s share of Spain’s artwork ended up in Madrid museums like Riena Sofia and the Prado.
Though it is hard to believe, Madrid has a better nightlife or marcha than Barcelona. Also, people from Madrid are said to be much friendlier. My experience there was a good one, though I really didn’t notice that anyone was much nicer. During my week in Madrid, I went out in Chueca and had fabulous meals and drank in simple wine bars. I stayed in Puerta del Sol, which is touristy, but close to everything.
Another recommendable Madrid Excursion is touring the Real Madrid football stadium. One of the best football teams in the world (some from the city would say ‘the best’), the Real Madrid stadium will please and impress sports fans. (http://www.santiagobernabeu.com/)
For a week or a weekend, Madrid is a fantastic Spanish city.

Do you know how I can get tickets to a Real Madrid game? I’ve been looking at the website but I don’t know which link to click. Please and thank you!
Hola!
You should be able to get tickets at the stadium. That’s where we got them when I went!
