Whether you celebrate the holidays in the upcoming weeks or not, going to the Crisismas Y Mas Y Mas (Recessionmore And More And More) is a great way to support the arts and small business owners in one shot. Barcelona’s Dumpster Diva Benedicte Bodard and Robin Wills have assembled a cool group of 7 artists for this show November 18 – 19.
Benedicte specializes in straddling dumpsters foraging vintage Art Nouveau tiles from buildings that are being remodeled. She repurposes them into unique tables, trivets, wall designs, etc.
Papup Productions will present a line of purses, organizers, and other stuff with graphics reproduced from old advertisements and newspaper photos. Architectural details, photographed with precision, are made into stationary, etc. by Catherine Hart. Jewelry, food, and more unusual items add to the list. The show, open to the public, is held in Benedict’s Art Nouveau home in Barcelona and that alone is worth the visit. Take a look at their web site for the invitation.
