The Next Big Thing At The Spain Scoop

The Scoopettes and The Next Big Think on The Spain Scoop

The Scoopettes and The Next Big Thing on The Spain Scoop

By Nancy Todd

We have grabbed the firey writing torch. Cat Gaa, writer of Sunshine and Siestas,  and Karen McCann with a very funny travel blog, Enjoy Living Abroad, have tossed that torch to us. The torch is called ”The Next Big Thing,”  and gives writers the page to promote their next cool projects.  We Scoopettes are always cooking with ideas as we hear from our readers.  We, of course, draw on our buzzing, creative minds which at times we wish would shut up so we can sleep.  Here is The Scoop.

What is the working title of  your new series?

Our new series on The Scoop is called: ‘Why And How I Moved To Spain – Was I Crazy?’

Living in Barcelona, Spain

Where did the idea come from for this series?

Our readers, friends, families, people we meet while traveling, dogs and cats are always asking, “Why and how did you move to Spain and were you nuts?”  The Spain Scoop is in the business of being experts on Spain and serving the needs of our readers.

How will you present this?

We like working in series.  For example:  No Car NeededPhoto Scoop, The Scoop Interviews, and The Soapbox Scoop .  ‘Why and How I Moved to Spain…’ will be presented in a numbered series written by ex-pats.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Of course George Clooney would be hanging out looking real good.  For real acting ability, Liam Neeson, Daniel Day Lewis (Scoopettes winsome ways will entice him out of retirement), Key and Peele, Lady Gaga, Queen Latifa (who kicks butt), Judy Dench, Kate Blanchett, Ralph Fiennes (who can do no wrong). Obama will direct. Meryl will star.  Paris Hilton is not invited.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your series?

Fun, expert advice on “Why And How I Moved To Spain – Or, Was I Crazy?”

Pass the torch to 5 more:

And now we pass the torch to other writers who we suspect might have a ‘Next Big Thing’ in the works. Nomadic Chic is a world traveler and pretty damn gutsy. Her site offers many inspirational stories and tips. We bet she’s got a ‘Next Big Thing’ brewing away. We’ll also toss the torch to Gee Cassandra, a Spain-based blogger based in Madrid. What’s coming up for her? We also wonder what Alex might have coming up at Sunshine Guide to Gran Canaria, a writer based on the Spanish Canary Islands. We follow Suzy’s travels at Suzy Guese, and always enjoy her Suzy Stumbles Over Travel series. What’s she got planned for her ‘Next Big Thing’? We also call on Hombre Lobo, a Spanish video blogger (vlogger?) who we had the pleasure to meet at TBEX in Girona.

I love the idea of myriad posts on “Why And How I Moved To Spain – Or, Was I Crazy?” I get this question a lot, and it’s not something you can answer in a sentence! When we moved to Seville, people couldn’t decide if we’d joined the witness protection program or just wanted a quiet place where we could go to seed in obscurity. I finally started a blog, launched a website and wrote a book to try to explain that we’re here because Spain is where we live out loud, in full technicolor, with a chorus of flamenco music in the background. I’m not sure my friends and family believe this, but maybe your posts will help. Can’t wait to read them.

I also think the idea of a series on “Why And How I Moved To Spain – Or, Was I Crazy?” is a swell one! I look forward to checking out more interviews from fellow (crazy) expats.

Also, thanks for tagging me :) I’ll get my post up this week, woo-hoo!
